WhatsApp Automation
What you get
Paced outbound messaging
Use WASenderPlus for paced broadcasts rather than sending each message manually. Prepare your audience before launch, then match campaign activity to your team's reply-handling capacity.
Shared conversations on your business number
Manage customer conversations through a shared number and team inbox. Decide who handles campaign replies before sending, including questions that need sales or support attention.
A Google Sheets starting point
Work with the Google Sheets add-on when your contact list lives in a spreadsheet. Check number formatting, permission records, and missing recipient details before preparing messages.
A browser-based sending option
Use the Chrome extension as your browser-based entry point. This is a browser-driven route rather than an API integration, so a signed-in browser session is part of the workflow.
How it works
Connect your number and install the tools
Install the Google Sheets add-on and Chrome extension, then sign in to your WhatsApp account in the browser. Sending runs from that authorized session on your own business number.
Prepare your contact data
Review your Google Sheets list for valid phone formatting, including the country code such as +1 for US numbers, plus consent status and missing fields. Keep excluded contacts outside the audience.
Map fields and review the message
Map the phone column and each merge field to its spreadsheet header, then preview the message against real rows. Confirm the business number, audience, and team inbox coverage.
Send a test, then launch the paced broadcast
Send to a test contact first to check the reply path and opt-out handling. Then start the paced broadcast and document who owns questions and permission withdrawals.
Consent before campaign volume
Treat an opt-out as a sending stop condition
Start with customer opt-in, not an available phone number. Record the collection source, timestamp, and messaging purpose alongside your contact data before preparing a permission-based campaign.
Use WASenderPlus for opt-out handling, then check how suppression affects your complete workflow. Test pending broadcasts, later imports, and external lists rather than assuming every system updates automatically.
Keep unsubscribe requests separate from recipient blocks and fresh consent. An imported contact should not become eligible again merely because their phone number reappears in Google Sheets.
Platform policy and legal obligations are separate questions. Meta's rules govern your sending route; applicable US messaging law depends on the communication, parties, and jurisdiction, so seek legal review.
Keep a consent record
Store the opt-in source, timestamp, permitted purpose, and withdrawal status. Make those fields available to the person preparing your next broadcast audience.
Test the pending queue
Send a test unsubscribe request while a message remains pending. Confirm the actual queue behavior before relying on automatic cancellation across connected workflows.
Control reimports
Compare incoming contacts against your suppression list. Require a documented permission review before reactivating someone who previously asked you to stop messaging.

Questions about WhatsApp automation
What is WhatsApp automation, and how does it work?
WhatsApp automation uses software to handle repeatable messaging tasks. You prepare an audience or define a trigger, configure the action, and establish how replies and exceptions are handled.
WASenderPlus covers paced broadcasts, a shared number, opt-out handling, and a team inbox, driven from Google Sheets. Event-driven workflows and AI replies are outside that scope.
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API?
Your requirements determine the route. The WhatsApp Business app handles greeting and away messages for basic incoming-message acknowledgment, with no extra tooling.
For programmable, system-triggered messaging you need the WhatsApp Business Platform through a provider. For spreadsheet broadcasts and shared replies, a browser-based tool like WASenderPlus avoids that onboarding.
Can I set up WhatsApp automation without coding?
Yes. A WASenderPlus broadcast workflow uses the Google Sheets add-on, Chrome extension, and team inbox. Begin with permission checks, field mapping, and a reviewed message.
If you need a visual chatbot flow builder, that is a different product category. WASenderPlus does not include a drag-and-drop flow builder or conditional chatbot logic.
Can multiple team members use the same WhatsApp number?
WASenderPlus supports a shared number and team inbox for team conversations. Establish who handles incoming replies and when a conversation moves to another colleague.
Check agent permissions and conversation history before relying on them. Shared access alone does not provide automatic routing or collision-prevention controls.
Can I import contacts from Google Sheets, Excel, or CSV?
WASenderPlus reads contacts through its Google Sheets add-on. Check the field requirements, phone formatting, and your permission records before preparing contacts for a broadcast.
For an Excel or CSV list, import it into Google Sheets first, then recheck phone columns and missing fields after the conversion.
Can I schedule reminders or automated follow-up sequences?
Paced sending controls the progression of outgoing messages within a campaign. It does not provide calendar scheduling, recurring reminders, or event-driven follow-up sequences.
If you need those, define the trigger, recipient time zone, quiet hours, and cancellation behavior first, then evaluate a triggered-workflow tool. Include a changed booking in your test.
How should opt-ins and opt-outs affect automated campaigns?
Build your audience from documented customer opt-in for the intended message purpose. Use WASenderPlus opt-out handling, and check suppression before preparing subsequent campaigns.
Test pending messages and contact reimports separately. An unsubscribe request should remain visible in your operating records rather than disappearing when another system updates the contact.
Does an opt-out mean the same thing as blocking a business?
Treat an opt-out as a request to stop the relevant messaging. Do not treat a recipient block, a later import, or a changed phone field as fresh consent.
Record any new permission with its source and purpose before considering renewed messaging. Review ambiguous requests manually instead of assuming that a customer has resubscribed.
When do automated messages need approved templates?
Template approval applies to WhatsApp Business Platform sending, where Meta governs message categories and service windows. Check current Meta documentation for the rules that apply to your route.
A reusable campaign draft in any tool is not template approval. If you use a provider, ask them to show approval status and what happens when a template cannot be used.
Can I connect my CRM or ecommerce store?
WASenderPlus integrates through its Google Sheets add-on. Native CRM, ecommerce, and webhook connectors are not available, so your data flow runs through the spreadsheet.
If you need direct CRM or store triggers, write the required data exchange first, then evaluate Platform-based tools against that contract rather than a logo list.
Can automation recover abandoned carts or send order updates?
Cart and order automation depends on a live store integration that reads cart status, order changes, and permission records at send time.
WASenderPlus does not integrate with store checkouts. You can send order updates from an exported sheet, but refresh that export shortly before sending so stale records are not messaged.
Does WASenderPlus include an AI chatbot?
No. WASenderPlus centers on broadcasts, opt-out handling, and shared team conversations. There is no AI chatbot or automated answering engine in the product.
If AI replies are essential, test approved knowledge, missing-information handling, escalation, and agent takeover with a vendor that offers them. Require evidence that automated answers stop when a human takes over.
Can I keep my existing business number?
WASenderPlus sends from the number signed in to your browser session, so you work with your existing business number. Number migration to an API provider is a separate operation.
Before changing providers, document account ownership, contact fields, consent records, and suppression data. Confirm how your team will continue handling active conversations during the change.
What does WhatsApp automation cost?
Costs depend on the route. Browser-based tools usually charge a subscription only, while Platform routes add per-message fees, provider charges, and sometimes agent seats.
See the WASenderPlus pricing page for current plans in USD, and estimate other providers against your actual audience size and workflow instead of assuming one billing model.
Does pacing protect an account from restrictions?
Pacing is an operational control for message queues and team workload. It is not a promise of delivery, policy compliance, or protection from account restrictions.
Review current WhatsApp policies, use documented permission, and investigate recipient complaints. Neither a sending interval nor official API access establishes immunity from enforcement.
What should happen when an integration or message fails?
Inspect the failure reason and current customer record before retrying. Separate a confirmed failed send from an uncertain result that might already have reached the recipient.
Compare your sending report against the contact list to see which rows completed, then resend only the unsent ones. Assign one operator to own that review.
How do I compare automation platforms?
Compare the task, data source, business-number ownership, reply coverage, and required integrations. Demonstrate your actual workflow instead of choosing from a feature count or engagement claim.
Use a practical acceptance test: prepare contacts, send a message, receive a reply, withdraw consent, and inspect pending work. Record which steps are automatic and which need intervention.
Design the workflow behind your WhatsApp messages
Separate available features from automation you still need
Map your requirements before choosing WhatsApp automation software. WASenderPlus supports a shared number, paced sending, opt-out handling, a team inbox, a Google Sheets add-on, and a Chrome extension.
Use these capabilities as your starting point, not evidence of every automation feature.
AI agents, automatic chat assignment, native CRM connectors, and event-driven sequences are not part of that scope. If you need them, ask any vendor for a demonstration using your actual workflow.
A shared inbox does not, by itself, establish automatic routing or a chatbot-to-human handover mechanism.
Choose between app tools, broadcasts, and API workflows
Match your route to where the work happens. The WhatsApp Business app offers greeting and away messages for acknowledging incoming chats, managed from the app's own settings.
Review those settings when your main task is acknowledging incoming messages rather than coordinating an outbound campaign.
Consider the WhatsApp Business Platform when your design depends on programmable events or connected systems, which usually means a provider, template approvals, and developer work.
WASenderPlus sits between those options: a browser-based route for spreadsheet broadcasts and shared replies, without API onboarding or programmable triggers.
Distinguish a broadcast from a triggered sequence
Define a broadcast campaign as a prepared message sent to a selected audience. A triggered workflow starts from an event and then evaluates conditions before acting.
That difference matters because a broadcast reflects your list at send time, while a trigger reflects the record at event time.
For a booking reminder, identify the booking event, current appointment status, intended message, and stop conditions. Cancel the planned action after a cancellation or changed booking.
Wait steps and branching logic are triggered-workflow features and are not part of the WASenderPlus broadcast scope.
Prepare personalization without exposing the wrong customer data
Keep your contact-field mapping explicit when preparing Google Sheets messaging. Separate the phone number, recipient name, permitted purpose, and any relevant order or booking reference.
Map each merge field to a named column header so a shifted column cannot silently send the wrong detail to a customer.
Test a missing name, an outdated order reference, and a phone number stored as numeric data. Decide whether incomplete records should be excluded or reviewed.
WASenderPlus reads contacts from Google Sheets, so convert any Excel or CSV list into a sheet first and recheck formatting after the conversion.
Carry suppression through the entire message lifecycle
Run an opt-out test that starts before sending ends. Add a consenting test contact, prepare a message, then withdraw permission while another message remains pending. Inspect the contact record and pending work. Record whether intervention is needed at each stage.
Repeat the check after a spreadsheet reimport or external contact update. Your acceptance criterion is consistent campaign suppression, not merely a visible unsubscribe label.
Treat queue-level cancellation as something to observe in your own test, then document the result so operators know whether a manual stop is required.
Assign conversation ownership before customers reply
Give each active conversation a clear human owner in your operating process. A shared WhatsApp number provides a common contact point, while the team inbox supports team handling.
Define who answers pricing questions, service requests, complaints, and requests for a callback.
Preserve the campaign purpose and relevant customer details during a handover. If you add automated replies elsewhere in your stack, test how they behave while an agent is answering, instead of assuming duplicate-reply prevention exists.
Specify integrations as data contracts, not logo lists
Write the exact data exchange before selecting a CRM integration. Name the source record, the required fields, the destination action, and the person who owns failures.
That contract tells you whether a connector is genuinely needed or whether an exported spreadsheet already answers the requirement.
For HubSpot, Salesforce, or Odoo, establish which system owns contact status and consent before any messaging tool touches those records.
WASenderPlus connects through Google Sheets. Native CRM, ecommerce, and workflow-connector integrations are not available, so plan your data flow around the spreadsheet.
Make ecommerce and sales messages depend on current records
Base abandoned-cart recovery on current checkout status, not an old exported list. A stale export can message someone who already purchased, cancelled, or requested a refund.
For Shopify or WooCommerce, you need a store integration before promising purchase-triggered or order-triggered messages to customers.
Apply the same discipline to lead qualification and Click-to-WhatsApp ads follow-up. Record the inquiry source, requested information, and responsible representative. Stop a prospect sequence when its purpose changes.
A spreadsheet broadcast sender does not provide live lead scoring or pipeline synchronization, so refresh exports close to send time.
Evaluate chatbot answers and interactive message formats separately
Separate quick replies, rule-based chatbots, and AI-assisted replies in your requirements. A saved response supports an operator; a flow follows configured rules without one.
Each behaves differently when a question falls outside its script, so test them independently before deployment.
Check images, documents, interactive buttons, and WhatsApp Flows against your chosen sending route, since availability differs between the app, the Platform, and browser-based tools.
Do not infer these capabilities from text broadcasts or assume an attachment provides an interactive booking journey for customers.
Plan failure handling before retrying an uncertain send
Define what your team does with failed sends, uncertain delivery, and interrupted browser sessions. A paused or closed tab can leave a campaign partly complete.
A retry should follow investigation, not automatically restart an entire campaign, because duplicate messages damage trust faster than a delayed one.
Check your sending report against the contact list to identify which rows actually went out before resending anything.
Assign an operator to investigate failures, and document how corrected records return to the eligible audience.
Review sending rules, ownership, and total operating cost
Check current Meta documentation for approved message templates, message categories, and applicable service-window rules. Those requirements apply to WhatsApp Business Platform sending.
Confirm who controls your WhatsApp Business Account before evaluating number migration, provider changes, or app and API coexistence.
Compare the platform subscription, any per-message fees, agent access, and connector charges at your expected workload. See the WASenderPlus pricing page for current plans and ask other providers for current documentation rather than recycling published rate cards.
Include consent records, suppression data, and conversation ownership in your migration acceptance checklist.
Test the workflow and measure what operators can act on
Build a campaign testing checklist around consent withdrawal, missing fields, an unavailable agent, and a changed customer record. Run it on a small test audience first.
Whether testing is built in or manual, record the expected action and observed result for review.
Separate successful sends from delivery, reads, qualified replies, and completed handovers in your reporting, because a sent message is not a business outcome.
Track unresolved conversations alongside campaign results, and never substitute a vendor's engagement claim for measured performance from your own audience.
